Is your company at risk of a visit from the ABCC?

Share

The Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC) looks north from longstanding IR strife heartland.

  • Do your operate in the QLD and NSW construction markets?
  • Is your company at risk of a visit from the ABCC?

The odds of the Commission paying you a visit have just increased significantly.

The construction watchdog says its workload has grown substantially in Queensland and NSW, following a shift of focus from the traditional “hot spot” of Victoria.

The ABCC’s annual report for 2018-19, tabled in Federal Parliament on Monday 21 October, revealed that the regulator initiated 69 investigations in NSW, up from 26 the previous financial year. It also launched 45 investigations in Queensland (up from 26), while new probes in Victoria remained at 31.

Mapien’s workplace strategists have successfully prepared many construction clients with the necessary industrial instruments, tools and governance to protect them from this kind of exposure. We have extensive experience in the construction industry nationally.
