A leadership update at Mapien
We’re writing to share an important update for Mapien – one that marks both a significant transition and an exciting next chapter for our business.
Farewell Belinda Honey
After an outstanding career spanning more than four decades, our Chair & Chief Workplace Strategist, Belinda Honey, has made the decision to step back from her operational role at the end of June 2026. While Belinda will continue as Chair of the Mapien Board and remain closely connected to the business as an owner, this change reflects her decision to step back from operational responsibilities and focus on the next chapter.
Belinda’s leadership and contribution have been central to Mapien’s journey over many years. From playing a foundational role in the merger of SHR and Livingstones to establish Mapien, to helping shape our national business and trusted client relationships, Belinda has had a significant impact on both our organisation and the clients we support. Belinda’s strategic focus and insight, commitment to excellence, and dedication to our purpose of creating better workplaces, have left a lasting impression with our clients and across our business.
On behalf of the team at Mapien, we extend our sincere thanks to Belinda for her outstanding contribution to our business, our clients, and the broader profession. Her leadership, vision, and commitment have helped shape the organisation we are today. We are pleased Belinda will continue to provide guidance and support in her Board role as we move forward.
Congratulations Dr Joshua Shingles
We are pleased to announce that Dr Joshua Shingles will be promoted from Head of Workplace Strategy (Eastern Region) to the role of Chief Workplace Strategist from 1 June 2026.
With over 20 years at Mapien, and an owner of the business, Joshua is a highly respected leader and partner to our clients. He brings significant strategic human resources and industrial relations expertise, strong commercial insight, and a deep commitment to our purpose and clients.
In preparation for this executive role, Joshua has recently completed the AICD Directors course to better understand Board expectations, corporate governance, financial analysis, strategy and risk management. Based in Brisbane, Joshua will lead our national Workplace Strategy team, continuing to work closely with clients and our leaders across the country.
This transition has been thoughtfully planned over time to ensure continuity for both our people and our clients. You will continue to be supported by the same trusted team, with ongoing access to the expertise, responsiveness, and strategic advice you value. While leadership transitions represent important milestones in our organisation, they also reflect the depth and capability of our national expertise, and the sustainability of our business.
Congratulations Joshua, we are excited about the opportunities ahead for our clients, people, and business.
