As Chief Workplace Strategist, Joshua leads Mapien’s national multidisciplinary team of workplace strategy consultants to help clients manage people issues with clarity, confidence and commercial practicality.
Dr Joshua Shingles is a trusted senior adviser helping organisations resolve complex workplace challenges and high-stake people matters with clear advice, reduced risk and commercially sound outcomes.

With more than 20 years at Mapien, he brings deep expertise, commercial insight and a strong track record of partnering closely with CPO/CHROs, HR Directors, Boards and CEOs to navigate sensitive issues, make sound decisions and achieve practical outcomes in complex workplace environments.

Clients value his clear judgement, analytical rigour, calm leadership and ability to bring structure to complex matters. He provides advice that is strategic, practical and credible at Board and executive level, helping leaders move forward with confidence.

He advises on a broad range of matters, including workforce and governance issues, sensitive employment matters, investigations, grievances and conflict resolution, while helping clients strengthen leadership capability, improve accountability and lift team performance.

Joshua also brings deep experience in enterprise bargaining, employee relations and workforce change, helping organisations reduce uncertainty, align stakeholders and manage transition with confidence and control.

As a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), with a PhD in Management from UNSW, his doctoral research into human resource practices reinforce an evidence-based, commercially aware approach that gives clients confidence in the quality, balance and judgement of his advice.
