Steve’s experience covers a rare combination of both industrial relations and human resources activity at senior management levels and as a consultant.

Steve’s broad employee relations background includes advisory, managerial and practitioner roles in the areas of industrial relations strategy, advice and representation; strategic workforce planning; policy development and implementation; design and review of salary and benefits; performance management; strategic recruitment and demobilisation advice; injury management; labour co-ordination; and security.

In the field of industrial relations, Steve has undertaken advisory, negotiation, advocacy and change management activities for major developers, operators and contractors as well as employer organisations.

He has designed and implemented employee relations and human resources management plans utilising continuous improvement, quality management, change management and performance management techniques for the enhancement of the effective use of both staff and wages employees, particularly in an outsourcing environment.

Steve’s experience encompasses the mining, marine, oil and gas, engineering, construction, construction management, maintenance and service industries, as well as employer associations, consulting and government.

Steve brings more than 50 years of experience as an industrial relations and human resources practitioner to Mapien.
